Beginning May 20, 2011, every 3rd Thursday, Columbia City will host its first art walk, Bohemian Backstreets! This art walk is the inaugural program coordinated and hosted by Community Arts Create (CAC), an associated program of Shunpike –a new nonprofit in the SE district that organizes programs and opportunities that use art as a vehicle for building a healthy, vibrant and connected community.
A fun and safe summertime event, Bohemian Backstreets invites people to the SE district to share in the wonderful and vibrant community of Columbia City.
Taking from the look, feel, and atmosphere of Parisian streets, Bohemian Backstreets allows for an art walk different from any other in Seattle. Patrons can enjoy not just traditional visual art but also music and performance art that embodies the neighborhood’s distinct traditions and backgrounds.
With 13 art walks throughout Seattle and none in the SE region (one of the most eclectic and diverse districts in the country), CAC intends to help demonstrate the unlimited potential and undeniable vitality of region.
